Job Function Work as a member of the MRIC Failure Analysis Engineering team supporting SEM data service. Process SEM requests from various engineering and R&D teams using the JEOL field emission SEM. Learn to support AFM, AES, optical interferometer, and other analytical tools operation as needed. Support failure analysis projects and other FA group activities as needed. Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable in a fast paced team environment.
Responsibilities include logging in and tracking the incoming requests, understanding customer SEM imaging and data requirements, sample preparation, SEM/EDX data collection, notifying customers of job completion and data location, and tracking related request status and processing information. Help with coordinating outside lab services. Help monitor tools status and maintain the lab in clean and safe condition. Learn to support other analytical tools operation as needed. Support failure analysis projects and other FA group activities as needed.
Skills/Experience: Hands on experience with Field Emission SEM operation and EDX operation.
Hands on experience with optical microscope inspection of semiconductor, display, or MEMS samples.
Hands on experience with sample preparation, such as scribing glass or Si wafers, cleaving, decaping, and sample coating.
Good team player, able to work well both with the failure analysis teammates and engineers from other functional groups.
Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and commitment to high quality data.
Flexible, self-motivated, willing to learn new skills and take on new challenges. Ability to multi-task and maintain good productivity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with vendors to coordinate external lab services
Fluent in MS office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
Education Requirements Preferred: Associate's, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
