The BioMEMS Overview Learning Module answers the question "What are BioMEMS?", and provides an overview of the areas of the medical field in which bioMEMS are currently used, and where possibilities exist in the future. It also highlights a few bioMEMS that are commercially available.
This learning module consist of a primary knowledge unit, an activity and assessment.
The Participant Guide is available to the general public. The Instructor Guide and supporting presentation are available to registered users.
This category includes the BioMEMS Applications Overview Learning Module (Instructor guide, Participant guide and PowerPoint presentation). This learning module highlights some of the current applications of MEMS in the medical field as well as some of the future applications.
This category contains the files for the DNA Microarray Learning Module.
This module covers how DNA microarrays are used in various biomedical applications. It also allows the participants to explore how DNA microarrays are fabricated and interpreted, and to discuss the questions being raised about the ethics of such devices.

This learning module provides an overview of MEMS applications for environmental and bioterrorism sensing.
This category includes the Diagnostic BioMEMS Learning Module.
This learning module explores the areas in diagnostic medicine that are being or will be impacted by the introduction of bioMEMS. Devices explored include the lab on a chip (LOC), MEMS sensors, and imaging MEMS.
This category contains the Clinical Laboratory Techniques and Microtechnology Learning Module (Instructor guide, Participant guide and PowerPoint presentation).
This learning module provides an overview of the testing that takes place in a clinical lab, technician requirements, quality control issues, and how microtechnology has enabled some of these tests to be conducted and analyzed in the field.
