News Flash: Lont-Term Job Growth Expected for Technology Sector - From ASEE's First Bell Briefings:
The Murfreesboro (TN) Daily News Journal (1/16) reported, "While jobs dwindle in some professions and trades, they continue to surge in others. One area that is predicted to have long-term growth is the technology job sector," expected to grow by 30 percent through 2018. According to the Nashville Technology Council, "the highest number of job openings came at enterprise health care technology companies." Others include "health care, start-up businesses and professional services." The article notes, "The technology job advertised the most was developer. Analyst positions declined slightly, while management positions increased. The report also showed programming languages required in today's technology industry like .Net and Java are still in highest demand for potential employees." Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Learning Module
This safety learning module covers the content and interpretation of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
MEMS fabrication requires the use of many chemicals, some which have potential hazards; therefore, before working in a fabrication facility one must know how to locate a MSDS for a specific chemical and be able to extract all of the safety information that ensures a safe and accident free environment. This learning module provides content and activities that allow the participants to locate MSDSs, extract information and compare the potential hazards of two or more chemicals. Participants will also identify the action needed in case of chemical exposure or spill using the information in a MSDS.
